Kalsom Taib Publishing (Registration No. 001938479-M) was incorporated on 25 March 2010 by Datin Kalsom Taib with the objective of publishing and marketing of books, training and consulting on human resources and conduct training, specifically on time management and performance appraisal system.
Johor Palate: Tanjung Puteri Recipes won the Gourmand Best in the World Cookbook Awards in the Culinary Heritage category in 2015. Malaysia’s Culinary Heritage, The Best of Authentic Traditional Recipes was recently awarded “Best Book of the Year 2020” by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. It also received an award in the Food Heritage category.

About the Authors
Kalsom Taib, a graduate of the University of Malaya, taught in secondary schools for five years before joining the private sector. In the 1970s to 1990s, she worked in several multinational corporations, including Shell Malaysia, Malaysia Mining Corporation Berhad and Nestle Malaysia. Her seven-year stint at Nestle Malaysia put her in good stead to assist her son in his food business. Kalsom has written three books, Taib Andak: In a Class of His Own, Zainab Ahmad: A Truly Remarkable Woman and The Shafee Yahaya Story: Estate Boy to ACA Chief. In 2019, she was a recipient of the Jasmina Awards when her story, My Mother’s 100 Year Journey, won second prize in the Journey category.
Hamidah Abdul Hamid is an entrepreneur with a passion for cooking. The Adek Boutique at Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, was one of her first ventures. She then branched into wedding planning, a gift shop and a food and hamper business. A naturally gifted cook, Hamidah has tried and tested every recipe in this book, making sure that the unique and authentic flavours and textures of the dishes are preserved. During cooking demonstrations, she is adept at taking the mystery out of cooking Malaysian dishes, showing the ease with which they can be made and presented using readily available local ingredients.
